Conergy starts construction on Australia’s first grid-connected, utility-scale solar and battery storage project

On August 23rd, 2016, Conergy announced the beginning of the construction of Australia’s first solar and storage project, designed to consistently feed renewable energy into the grid and demonstrate the capability for large-scale solar and storage to provide reliable future power quality and supply at a fringe-of-grid location. The USD 42.5 million project, located off the Mulligan Highway at Lakeland in Far North Queensland, is the Southern Hemisphere’s first integrated solar, storage and fringe-of-grid project of this size and scale, and will demonstrate grid-to-islanding functionality, the company reports.
