Last week Chile announced the winners of its latest energy auctions to add 12,430 GWh of generation capacity to the grid, starting in 2021. Wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) developers won a massive 40% of the tenders, the Chilean Renewable Energy Association (ACERA) reports. The average winning price was USD 47.6 per megawatt hour (MWh).
